Someone that would put that much time and effort just to be spoiled like that would realize they're living in the worst possible alternative universe, lol
Tell me about it haha. All that effort and you find out about the big returning weapon from a small paragraph in Broks shop. Wounded.
There's a few of simple sequence breaks like that in the game lol, nothing significant of course but it makes me wonder if the devs never noticed it or they did but they decided they didn't have the resources to refine them. If I were to work at SM I would be all over that lmao
There are definitely quite a few. None are huge issues thankfully. About 75% of the way thru my latest run. In addition to OP's I've found the following:
* After curing Atreus I explored around with blades of chaos both in Midgard and helheim before returning to Tyr's temple. At the temple Mimir had to explain how we got the blades and winds of hel. Atreus was surprised that I went to helheim at all even though we went together and had been using the winds.
* In the first trip to the mountain, you receive an upgrade item for the ax just before going up the claw lift. I backtracked slightly to Broks shop so that I had the upgrade before the dragon, but later Brok was upset that Sindri touched the ax. Likely intention was for you to not backtrack and upgrade with Sandri after the dragon fight.
* Doing any side missions, especially valkyries, during the period after telling Atreus he's a god and he acts like a little shit for awhile. Like at the foot hills he goes right between disrespecting his mom one moment to optimistically asking Kratos to free the valkyrie, then back to giving Kratos the cold shoulder.
* The continued journal entries being written when Atreus is out of the party.
Theres a few more I noticed but can't recall atm. If any popped up on my first run I dont recall or didn't catch the significance. Kind of fun to try and spot them on replays.
I noticed a lot of these too! I honestly think they could've caught these sequence breaks if they had more time and recources to iron them out lol
There are quite a lot of tiny visual inconsistencies too, like when Brok and Sindri go to brand the key they forged and Brok pulls a red hot brand from his satchel. One Cory mentioned himself was the gauntlets disappearing in the scene where Kratos attaches the chains of the BoC to his arms.
Wait how did you explore the realms without going back to the temple first?
The temple of tyr quest takes place under the temple through a side door. You're free to use the bifrost without going back there right away.
That’s right. Nvm
i imagine it’s both, but more significantly the ladder. idk if you’ve seen the documentary but the resource they needed the most was time!
As a Dark Souls fan I can attest that finding out that way might actually be a great, 'aha!' moment for certain players when you realize you found something out sooner than you were meant to. It's like hearing a secret from the other side of a door. Forbidden knowledge.
Imagine telling the story like “kratos and atreyus randomly abandoned their mission of getting to jotunheim and Re now going to muspelheim for no reason at all”
Huh, that's really interesting, they probably thought no one was gonna defeat the trials that early on in the game XD
I imagine some poor guy out there with top skills managing to do this on his first playthrough and he's met with a spoiler...that must be the worst reward in videogame history!
Do you have a clip
I’m attempting the same thing in Muspelheim on GMGoW on regular game. I’m a good enough player I thought it wouldn’t be so bad. It is. The 5 minute challenge took more tries than I’d care to admit and I’m currently stuck on trial 3, the Elf Captain with the grunts. At the end the elves start spewing in like crazy while he does his ione shot kill dive. Maybe tonight I’ll get it but I doubt it.
I’ve done it before getting the blades, but it’s super hard. Can’t imagine doing it prior to getting the chisel and being able to fight a few valks first and getting that gear (I’m talking GMGOW on NG only). If anybody can prove that they’ve done that, I’d be pretty impressed
Yeah I wasn't on GMGOW or anything I'm not that insane haha. Just playing through on balanced experience for an easy run. But there are guys on YouTube that beat Sigrun with all level one equipment on GMGOW without taking any damage. It's insane what people can do.
That’s actually easier than some of the things you’d have to do in musphelheim with low level gear. Multiple enemies>>>>> 1 enemy. You can learn and get perfect at beating sigrun pretty fast, but in some challenges you’re up against 8 at once and basically can’t get touched.
I’m attempting it on GMGoW. It’s proving harder than anticipated. If I do it, I’ll save some sort of proof.
That 2nd trial (kill enemies in quick succession) is brutal that early in the game.
I think luck was a factor in getting past that one. My normal strategy on that one anyway is to save up runic attacks to spam and hope for some luck. A lucky break with Surtr’s Grip of Flame helped a lot in clearing out the final wave, too.
Right. This is why it’s so hard without the blades. 2 fewer runic attacks to use so you really gotta make due with hel’s touch and invaldi’s anvil only pretty much.
Edit: also talisman of the realms is super helpful for this one but you can’t have that yet either, do you’re pretty much just working with kasivr
>If anybody can prove that they’ve done that, I’d be pretty impressed
[Well I'm one step closer.](https://youtu.be/5QN_YrMJWI8)
Sorry for the terrible quality; I'm still on the launch PS4. I probably should have recorded the menu screen proving it's GMGoW difficulty but you can see that the enemies power up, which I think they only do in that difficulty. You can also see that Mimir is dead. Still, if I actually make it to the top, I'll record more. Spoiler alert, I don't think I'll be able to beat the 100 enemy challenge.
Well done! This was an impressive feat in and of itself. You’re motivating me to attempt this again. Keep it up!
This was what happened to me on my first playthrough. I'm the type of person that likes to leave the best for last (i.e finish the story last) so i do all the side stuff when it opens up.
As such i was determined to beat musphelheim the first go around. The Valkyrie was such an insane leap in challenge that it taught me how to be better at the game in general.
I was definitely confused when I read the item description but the BIG reveal wasn't ruined at all since the scene was so damn good.
Man how you managed to get there without the blades, they made the challenges much easier
