Peter Cushing flubs a line with Carrie Fisher, Star Wars (1977)

This makes me so happy to see!
the best moment is when she realizes and smiles
Her smile irradiated such light <3
So cool that they got him for this. And what a cast all round, old and new.
And they got his old mate, Christopher Lee from Hammer Films as Count Dooku. Cushing would play Van Helsing to Lee's Dracula and the like. They were very good friends over the years appearing so often together it is sad that they couldn't play together in the movie.
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

Brilliant! I've never seen that one before.
*(Peter Cushing, internally)*
*"This dialogue is so trippy. I must remember to warn Christopher Lee not to work with these people."*
Given the scripts on some of those old Hammer Films productions, they would be perfectly okay with a bit of Schlock.
I’ve seen Cushing in films riffed by MST3K. He’s done worse.
Personally I find all of his stuff is great. I grew up with his films on TV.
while wearing slippers
And smelling lovely.
Is there any other way? O.O
Is he beginning to break character at the beginning of the clip? It looks like a key grip just tripped over some wires and he’s trying not to laugh.
Go home and what, Peter? Go home and what?!
I think he was saying go home in disgrace
One of my favorite Family Guy jokes is them making fun of this scene
"She said 'no', should we still blow up the planet?"
Seeing Tarkin be goofy is almost more disturbing than him committing genocide.
In older movie bloopers they always seem to move the camera around at the end. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence but I swear I only ever see that out of older movies.
If I recall, it's a technique to mark the scene with a visible cue for the person that does the editing in the cutting room, to let them know it was a useless shot.
the disney+ special on star wars is super great if you haven't seen it yet. sparked a kind of peaceful learning in me i have not felt since...
Get me a scanning crew in here on the double. I want every part of this ship checked!
Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars trilogy
What's the special called? Thanks.
Did you guys know that Peter Cushing [lived in Whitstable](https://youtu.be/deTGYinacYg)?
I have seen him on his bicycle
Should have kept that take Lucas.
He is so incredibly intense and intimidating in this movie. I'm really sad they made him into a cartoon villain for Rogue One.
Less the uncanny valley more the, let's destroy the entire Imperial archives ( a real world equivalent of nuking the Pentagon and Library of Congress ). Tarkin became less cold calculated menace, and more Dr. Evil in space.
With a galactic empire, you wouldn't have the only copy of your archive on a single planet.
OTOH, many years ago (80s) a friend went on a tour of CNN in Atlanta. They stored their backup tapes in the corridor outside the computer room. Hope they changed that quickly.
Just so bad — Tarkin coulda done everything in the film via hologram, that woulda looked fucking *photorealistic*
Still would have sucked but still
Just like Clone Wars Grievous
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
Peter Cushing ❤️
Wow they even did the bloopers in cgi! That’s dedication right there
She looks so much like Debbie Reynolds in this
Good morning, good morning! It’s great to stay up late!
You may fire when ready.
George is hammer horror film fan :)
THEN NAME THE SYSTEM
Gutted his line has been cut off.
