He’s got pretty strong opinions on music for an egg with a goatee
He is a fine example of genetic superiority.
All I see is the captain from Wall-E... But with a goatee and glasses.
The captain for WALL-E had the qualifications to helm a space cruise liner. Don't offend him like that
I was thinking a flattened baked potato
His head is the shape of a canned ham.
Swore I'd stop being a judgmental asshole, but can someone please weigh this man's jowls?!
It's ok. I too don't like to pick a part people for their looks, but fuck this guy. Do your worst!
And just think, there's a human skull under all that...
Seriously, I’m not trying to joke around here, but he almost *really does* look like a different species. [Serious]
I'm pretty sure that's fungus.
Is this satire?
>Almost cartoonish picture of a fat white neckbeard
>Obviously inflammatory statement about music with racism thrown on top
Seems like a pretty obvious troll to me, hard to know for sure without being able to see the rest of his Twitter though.
Yeah feels like a satire post somewhat along the lines of "hey white people stop trying to rap". Who knows, I guess I have seen enough of the internet to know that someone unironically holds the view he posted as well
Came here to ask this. Haven't found the answer yet, but it probably is. Surprised you're not downvoted for questioning the circlejerk.
Ironically, the Circle Jerks used to play with Bad Brains, a black punk band.
I was jamming bad brains the other day. Definitely the best punk bassist of the 80’s.
Side note: I once opened for the Circle Jerks, and had lunch with Keith Morris for like two hours. My band and I asked him a ton of questions while treating him to a HUGE order of chili fries, and he was cool af the whole time. The show was amazing, too; he was right up front for our whole set, super into it. One of the highlights of my life.
Dude I recently watched that crazy VHS mash-up video about how punk rock was presented by the media in the 80's 'Cathode Fuck' made by the FilmThreat guy Chris Gore in the late 80's. Have you seen that shit? I was born in '91 so I didn't live through any of that and it just seems so crazy to me. It rapidly cuts from clips of that time Jello Biafra went on Jerry Springer and let elderly white people debate him, interviews with The Clash, clips from a documentary about white supremacists. As a guy who didn't experience that it's a fucking crazy time capsule of crazy American culture.
One of the first american punk bands, before the ramones, was a band called death. A black band.
Their song Keep on Knocking is one of my all-time favorites.
Looking at the profile picture it is most certainly just a troll baiting people
B-b-but, I want to be outraged and I want to believe horrible things like this are more common than they are because it reinforces my fucked up views of the world! Why are you ruining this for me?!
Big Joe Turner, Fats Domino, Big Mama Thoron, who Elvis stole Hound Dog from. Fuck the list goes on and on. What a racist dumbass this guy is
Hate to break it to you, but Slash isn't real. It's just your parents dressed up...
Sister Rosetta Tharpe is way up at the top of my list.
Also, don't ever tell me Prince couldn't rock with the best of them.[As evidence I submit this pure facemelt.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igYpWqe3s6U)
Let's not spread lies though, Elvis didn't steal "Hound Dog", people covered one another's music very regularly in the 50's and 60's. I don't want people believing this just because you typed it.
The song was written by two Jewish men, specifically for her, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. These men also made "Jailhouse Rock" and a crazy amount of other songs. Then a man named Freddie Bell covered the song and added parts such as: "Cryin' all the time" and "you ain't never caught a Rabbit". Elvis saw their version and covered that.
This takes nothing away from from how great these musicians and artists are, and I believe almost all originals are better than their covers. Like I said, the story is a little different than you described.
I would add Bo Diddley to the list. I used to always listen to Bo Diddley when I mowed the lawn.
Edit: made a correction.
> The song was written by two white men, specifically for her, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
That assumes a couple of Jewish guys counted as white in the 50s.
Big Mama Thorton
Nonpoint, Sevendust, Living Colour. The list goes on and on
God Forbid, Killswitch Engage, Animals as leaders, Candiria
Animals as Leaders is so sick. Tosin Abasi is an alien from the planet Music.
I saw him in Reflux in my hometown almost 20 years ago. Tiny hole in the wall venue. Unbelievable talent, they blew the doors off the place.
20 years ago? Shit, I thought he was still in his twenties! But he's actually 38!
I am a drummer and never look up guitarist videos. ....Abasi is the ONE exception. Alien is the right fucking word for that virtuoso.
Great guy too
I know him
And he loves kittens
So I'm cool
Suffocation, Stuck Mojo, Rage of Light
The lead singer of oceano punched me in the face at a show. I was right in front of the stage and he moved the mic up to his face super fast and he clocked me while doing it lol. It was awesome
Brutal. That's an awesome memory. But Oceano aside, today we're united as brothers in foreskin usernames
I was not aware the deftones had a black band member. TIL
They don't, Chi Cheng (rip) and Abe(drummer) are the only non Hispanic dudes in band.
The one time I saw Deftones live Chi had JUST died. Still a good show, but you could tell the band was grieving. I can only imagine the energy they would have brought with him.
This is way to far down RATM RULEEEEESSSS!!!
"But why do they have to be so political!?" /S
Check out Inferi if you like a bit of black metal. Used to love God Forbid, thanks for giving me an inadvertent college flashback!
Y'all forgot about the mighty FISHBONE!!!!!!
Had to go way to far for this and still haven't seen Bad Brains
And then there’s the whole bit where Sister Rosetta Tharpe *invented* rock and roll, but . . . that’s on some other jawn
Though T-bone walker, muddy waters, John Lee hooker and chuck berry all get a lot of originator credit as well.
By "black metal" do you mean "black metal" or "black metal"?
Hootie and the Blowfish
Nono, Darius Rucker got traded in Race Draft of 2005. He's a white dude now.
I was about to say Sevendust too. My favorite band.
Killswitch Engage when Howard Jones was leadsinger and Nonpoint too.
Another one is Straight Line Stitch. Awesome band.
> Living Colour
They put out an album in like 2017 or 18 too. They've been around for a long time. Great fucking band.
Still touring. And because CM Punk is back theyre getting a third wave of popularity.
Rage Against the Machine
Gary Clark Jr
That dude from Bloc Party!
Living Colour, Killswitch engage and my all time favorite badass, Rocky from Suicidal Tendencies 🤘
Death (Detroit), Bad Brains, Thin Lizzy, Hirax, Blasphemy (Canada), Mystifier, Black Death, Wesley Willis, Body Count
edit: SUFFOCATION (duh)
Oh yeah good call! This entire statement is ridiculously racist and just wrong for so many reasons lol. What a piece of shit. I'm glad we all agree.
Fuckin Bad Brains. Quickness or Soulcraft fuckin amazing
TV on the Radio!
I yelled chuck berry at my phone when I read this
Thankfully his cousin Marvin introduced it to him.
Dude. He and Little Richard pretty much invented rock n roll.
We literally wouldn't have any kind of rock music if not for black musicians.
Also, blues was metal before metal was metal. Metalocalypse did a whole episode on that.
Sister Rosetta Tharpe has entered the chat
Chuck Berry peed and farted on white women.
The video 😆
Maybe they were into that
Weeeeell he also installed hidden cameras in the womens bathroom at a restaurant he owned
Also, he should be the captain of the neck beard team.
He needs a neck for that
Just because all I’m seeing are men and that’s its own thing: Tracy Chapman, Tina Turner, Brittany Howard, Poly Styrene, Betty Davis
Chuck berry, the inventor of rock and roll
I’m pretty sure I saw a documentary somewhere long ago where his cousin Marvin heard the sound first from a teenager at a prom.
Don’t forget Robert Johnson basically inventing the blues. No rock without blues.
Bad Brains. Actual punk band for you
Soul Glo. An actual modern punk band for you.
I’ve never seen a trombone fly like that. Great band!
Came here looking for this.
Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave (Tom Morello)
Hell, fucking Clarence Clemons!
Or a majority of blues artists , where rock originated from .
Every time he hears a Chuck Berry song one of his arteries gets blocked
I bet he thinks chuck berry is white
Or that he stole his riffs from Marty McFly
This is a blues riff in B, watch me for the changes and try to keep up
It’s been a while since I’d seen it, does he say “blues riff in B” word for word? I thought it was “12 bar blues in b” which makes more sense as a musician, because 12 bar blues is a standard chord progression and a good group of musicians could actually play a song on the fly if “12 bar blues in b, watch me for the changes” was the only instruction
[Blues riff in B](https://youtu.be/Ox1pkvNHZko)
That was Calvin Klein.
I bet he thinks Chuck Berry is a flavor
Chuck Berry should fart in his mouth.
If you know about Chuck, you have that backwards and mild.
Every time I hear a Chuck Berry song I wonder why The Beach Boys are singing
This mf look like if your mom accidentally bleached your grimace doll.
r/rareinsults dayum son
Bad brains says hello
Check out [Radkey](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfCn2ALNUGoPH1EO4b9wLFuHA6a51b-8_)
This band particularly since he mentions punk rock. You can’t get much more hardcore than Bad Brains.
There’s an interview with the singer of bad brains where someone asks if they’re punk like the Sex Pistols and he said “no, we’re hardcore punk.” They pretty much founded the subgenre of hardcore.
> You can’t get much more hardcore than Bad Brains.
Have you heard of the proto-punk band *Death*?
Just recently found them. They're awesome. To think, that the album was recorded in 75...
WE GOT THAT ATTITUDE
Wait until he finds out Black people invented rock n roll.
And a bunch of other genres too like jazz and techno
And don’t forget Disco!
Techno has been invented by black people? That's cool. 😊
I love me some good Techno.
If I remember correctly, I think it was developed kind of simultaneously in Detroit (US) and Manchester (UK), with both groups very much influenced by (black American) rap music and its DJs.
Really, though, a lot of poplar music over the last 125 years or so is at the very least influenced by black American music, if not written and performed by black Americans.
I thought poplar music would have been written and performed by trees
That made me think of the song and the oaks and maples…
> If I remember correctly, I think it was developed kind of simultaneously in Detroit (US) and Manchester (UK), with both groups very much influenced by (black American) rap music and its DJs.
You're mistaken... sort of.
Techno was invented by Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson (the Bellville Three) in Detroit in 1981. At the time they were influenced by bands like Kraftwerk, Parliament, Prince, the B-52s, and the like. Electro musicians influenced the genre from 1982 onward, musicians like Africa Bambaataa and Egyptian Lover who were also highly influential on the development of hip hop, but techno clearly took from electro what hip hop left behind.
Interestingly Drexciya -- a Detroit techno / electro band -- is quoted as saying they thought they were making hip hop in the early 1990s. But by nobody's definition could their (awesome) music be considered hip hop. I think it illustrates what I loved about the late 1980s and 1990s electronic music scenes though -- musicians weren't tied down to one genre the way they are now.
Anyhow, around 1981 bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Heaven 17, etc. were being called "techno" by *some* people in Europe, but it was a different genre of music and eventually the "new wave" and "synth-pop" labels were used to describe it. Techno as we know it didn't really catch-on in the UK and other parts of Europe until 1983. And the Bellville Three weren't really aware of the extent of their success in Europe until 1988, but from then on the trio's relationship with the European club scene played a major role in the development of their careers and the genre as a whole.
Of course many subsequent sub-genres and other important developments in techno music (and other types of electronic music) originated in Manchester, Berlin, and other parts of Europe.
Yeah many people assume it's German born but really it was Detroit.
HA! Then El Rubio is totally wrong in GTA Online. He says he is part german and assumes that's why he likes Techno (while I don't like THAT part of Techno they use in the game)...
I too am german but actually thought it's more from the netherlands. Well, TIL. 😊
I actually don't care who invented it and where it was invented. I like it and that counts for me. 😊 But always nice to learn something new.
Detroit (and Detroit alone) is the birthplace of techno. But a lot of significant sub-genres and developments in techno originated in Germany, at first debuting at events like Love Parade and then becoming a permanent part of Germany's nightlife.
Yes but the style El Rubio in that game prefers is more like Jeff Mills (looked him up on Spotify), KeineMusik, Solomun, Tale Of Us and stuff which I absolutely don't like. So he is still wrong imo. 🙃
I am more into HandsUp, Hardstyle, Happy Hardcore, Happy Rave, Hardcore and some Schranz and Trance.
But it is still cool to learn who actually invented Techno.
Go down the Detroit Techno rabbit hole. Jeff Mills is a great start. One of the pioneers of the genre.
Jeff Mills' "Live at the Liquid Room, Tokyo" is an absolute classic.
Rock and or roll
Slash would like a word. So would tv on the radio…so would Lenny, so would jimmy.
Or literally any Rock group because the genre originated from a mesh of different genres of music from black musicians.
Unless you are talking about someone other than Hendrix
What about tom morello
Lol, literally invented the genre
That’s what I’m saying lmao
Sevendust. That is all.
Bad Brains and Death would beg to differ.
Black people *invented* rock lol
Jimi Hendrix has entered the chat
BB King called. He says fuck you.
Guess he’s never heard of Prince or Thin Lizzy
Forget about them. Chuck Berry is literally considered the father of rock and roll, which later evolved to rock. Chick Berry was African American.
Not just Chuck alone. Little Richard and Fats Domino were equally responsible
Sister Rosetta Tharpe is wanting a word!!
As well as his cousin, Marvin berry
Still pissed that when Chuck passed it was barely reported or covered
I remember hearing about it on NPR. Hell, hearing Johnny b Goode on back to the future got me into his music and I to blues rock in general
He hasn’t heard of a lot of people.
*laughs in Fishbone*
This is MGK's manager yea?
It's actually MGK. Dude just hasn't been the same since the red carpet run in.
Holy shit. The new Goomba from the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie looks really scary!
I’ve T - Body Count -
Bad Brains are one of the pioneers of punk, not to mention Death
..Black people literally invented rock music
Jackie Brenston has entered the chat.
Love all of the artists I'm seeing above. Sister Rosetta Tharpe would destroy this guys psyche!
Any Fishbone love ?
*Bad Brains* would like a word.
Hell, *TV on the Radio* might have a few things to say to this guy.
That guys head is shaped like a McDonald’s chicken nugget
Dude blacks INVENTED ROCK
The Bad Brains called. They want to kick your ass.
Ok Michael Moore. Make a documentary about it you fat fuck.
Racism isn't punk rock either, Cletus.
Though I'm not the first king of controversy
I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley
To do black music so selfishly
And use it to get myself wealthy (hey) - Eminem
Dude is hogging all the chins to himself. Leave some chins for other people ya racist.
He may have a point. After all, it's not like the greatest rock guitarist of all time was black or something. Oh, wait....
Ah yes, I guess Prince, Jimi Hendrix, the drummer for punk rock band Dead Kennedys, and some others I can’t name are all horrible musicians with no talent? Dumbass. This guy deserves to get fucked in a mosh pit. He looks like the kind of guy that would get trampled anyway.
Looks like a big toe covered in dog hair wearing glasses
Lol what!? Rock was derived from blues.
Does he not realize Jimi Hendrix and Prince were black?
Or that Elvis Presley was influenced by black folks?
> A lot of people seem to think I started this business. But rock ‘n’ roll was here a long time before I came along. Nobody can sing that kind of music like coloured people. Let’s face it: I can’t sing like Fats Domino can. I know that.
